Zhou Liujun, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), led a delegation to Botswana from Nov 10 to 12.
Zhou met with Botswana's Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation Unity Dow, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Kenneth Matambo, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration Nonofo Molefhi, and Minister of Transport and Communications Kitso Mokaila.
The two sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, capacity building, agricultural development, and personnel training.
The delegation attended a meeting with Botswana government departments to promote foreign aid policies, project financing procedures, and the South-South fund application process.
They made field trips to a Mopani primary school and a Youth Center, both of which are projects with aid from China, and held discussions with the Chinese embassy in Botswana and local Chinese-funded institutions requiring constructers to ensure project quality and the positive result of aid.
Zhao Yanbo, Chinese ambassador to Botswana, participated in the activities.
