Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Assistant Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Abdoulaye Mar Dieye at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Oct 29. The two sides exchanged views on issues such as strengthening international development cooperation.
Dieye warmly congratulated Deng on the establishment of the CIDCA and expressed his belief that its establishment will further enhance China's position and influence in international development cooperation and promote the construction of the Belt and Road.
The UNDP and CIDCA have established a regular dialogue mechanism to further strengthen cooperation in various fields. Dieye said he is very pleased to be able to co-host the release ceremony of the report on China's agricultural aid projects in Africa.
Deng spoke highly of the pragmatic cooperation between the UNDP and China under the framework of the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund. He thanked the UNDP for its work for the conference, and expressed the CIDCA's willingness to establish a dialogue mechanism with the UNDP.
