Beijing's outbound tourism market grew by 500 times in the past 23 years, according to a recent report by the municipal statistical bureau.
The number of outbound trips by tourists from Beijing was 5.11 million last year, 500 times compared with 1994, said the bureau.
In 2007, the capital's outbound trips reached 1 million for the first time and grew to 5 million in 2015.
In 2017, Beijing tourists went to France, Italy, Germany and the United States the most, followed by other destinations such Malaysia and Singapore.
