Guangzhou to host convention on exchange of overseas talents

The 2018 Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents (CEOT) and the 20th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology will be hosted in Guangzhou from Dec 21 to 22.

The events will be held jointly by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Western Returned Scholars Association and Guangzhou municipal government. 

It will feature eight major events, including summit forums, exhibitions, project exchanges, talent recruitment, professional conferences, overseas sub-conferences, and the 20th anniversary celebration of the CEOT, attracting overseas students and high-level talents to China for business, exchange and cooperation and promoting cross-regional exchanges among these talents.

The number of participants in this conference will be a whopping 50,000, including about 3,500 overseas talents consisting of Nobel Prize winners, academicians, well-known experts, high-level talents from high-tech enterprises, scientific research institutions and famous companies, core R&D personnel and patent holders from overseas innovation teams.

According to the organizing committee, preparations for the convention are proceeding with steady progress. The participation of institutions, associations and entrepreneurs' alliances at home and abroad will be a highlight of this year's event.
