Other attendees such as Tu Haiming, vice chairman of Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, shared their insights into the opportunities and challenges for Hong Kong's social and economic development in the new era.
They all agreed that the strengthened Shanghai-Hong Kong cooperation has been of great importance to Shanghai's innovation-driven development and economic transformation and to Hong Kong's prosperity and steadiness and improved competitiveness over the past four decades.
They considered that the two sides should use their advantages to deepen mutual cooperation, join hands to solve difficulties encountered in the process of development, and further contribute to the country's reform and opening up.
