Liuding Mountain Cultural Tourism Zone

Liuding Mountain Cultural Tourism Zone, located in the southern suburbs of Dunhua, Jilin province, covers an area of 52 square kilometers and is one of the most popular cultural tourism zones in Jilin province. 

With the world's tallest  bronze statue of the Sakyamuni Buddha seated at the top of the Liuding Mountain, the national-level scenic area combines Buddhist culture, Qing's earliest ancestor culture and Bohai culture into one place.

Visitors can also catch a glimpse of these wonderful ancient civilizations through the remnants and relics at various scenic spots in the zone, including the Qing Ancestral Hall, the Bohai Tombs, and the Zhengjue Temple.

The Zhengjue Temple deserves a special mention. As the largest Buddhism temple in northeastern China, the buildings embrace not only ancient Buddhism culture but also considerable modern ideas, offering a pure land of spiritual cultivation.

The roots and ancestor worship customs of Manchu people can be traced back to at the world's largest Manchu ancestral shrine – the Qing Ancestral Shrine at the Liuding Mountain Tourism Zone.

Also, the Bohai Tombs, the early royal and aristocratic mausoleum of Balhae, should be put on the must-visit lists for archaeology-lovers. They will discover the legendary epitaph on the gravestones of an ancient princess named Zhenhui.
