The competition, hosted by the International Stage Art Network (iSTAN), gathered outstanding designers in stage art from home and abroad, selecting 17 sets of art works to be awarded.
The dance drama, choreographed and directed by renowned Chinese dancer Yang Liping, fully depicts Pingtan's beauty and originality as an island city.
Cui Xiaodong, the designer of the drama's costume, also undertook the costumes design in many important occasions such as the costumes for leaders participating in the 2014 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
Cui said Pingtan is an important platform for connecting both sides of the Straits. Costumes used in this drama were not only to display the deep cultural deposits in Pingtan, but also to showcase the origin in cross-Straits folk arts.
Costumes used in Pingtan Impression were on display in the exhibition after the awarding ceremony from Nov 4 to 9, showcasing distinctive Fujian culture to a wider spectrum of people.
