The first-phase construction of Y-MSD, a new urban complex in Yangzhou's Hanjiang district, was finished on Nov 8, having taken four years to complete.
Constructed by Teda Group, a state-owned company founded in Tianjin in 1994, Y-MSD is the biggest establishment in the modern service industry in Jiangsu with its overall investment reaching 7.9 billion yuan ($1.1 billion).
Covering an area of 17 hectares, the complex has been designed to integrate various functions such as office buildings, business hotels, commercial areas and apartments.
Commercial headquarters and high-end business companies are welcomed to settle down in the complex to boost the development of Yangzhou's economy.
In recent years, Yangzhou has increased its investment in infrastructure construction and transportation upgrading, said Chen Yang, vice mayor of Yangzhou.
Chen added that he hoped Y-MSD could become a nesting zone for Yangzhou's modern service industry and gather more innovative and entrepreneurial talents after its second-phase constriction.
