Inner Mongolia merges culture, tourism bodies

A plaque unveiling ceremony for the Culture and Tourism Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region took place on Nov 12, marking the formal establishment of the department.

Due to the integration of the former regional culture department and tourism development committee, the new department is now of strategic significance, as it will perform the duties of the two former organizations.

Inner Mongolia has abundant tourism resources, including grasslands, forests, deserts, wetlands and hot springs. The region is also the origin of China’s grassland culture. And the establishment of the new department marks the start of a new chapter for the region’s development.
