The century-old Great World (Dashijie) amusement park in Shanghai reopened as a hub for cultural heritage in 2017 after being closed for nearly a decade.
The Great World, built in 1917, was long regarded as the city's most popular and attractive entertainment venue, where Chinese traditional operas, singing and acrobatic show were performed.
After renovation, the place showcases 50 varieties of the city's intangible cultural heritage, including local delicacies and shikumen houses (traditional residential buildings with gray brick walls).
