The People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has recently released a document supporting the development of traditional Mongolian medicine.
As an important part of traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Mongolian medicine has unique ways for treating colds, bone injuries, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
This document is an addition to five other documents outlining preferential policies recently released.
To encourage more patients to choose traditional Mongolian medicine, the threshold of medical reimbursement for traditional Mongolian medicine procedures in hospitals will be reduced by 20 to 50 percent. Patients can also apply for an expense account when using traditional Mongolian therapies including acupuncture, bone setting and medicated bath.
In addition, the document also focused on building up the number of experts knowledgeable in traditional Mongolian medicine. It stated relaxing age and qualifications for enrolling professionals in the area and implementing high-paying policies for them, so as to attract more people to promote and study traditional Mongolian medicine.
