The first German school in Northeast China opened in Shenyang, Liaoning province, on Nov 5.
With Shenyang now enjoying close trading ties with many countries around the world, the opening of the new school provides a new option for German-speaking expatriates bringing up children in the city.
The school is located at the China-Germany Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park in Shenyang and follows an international curriculum, with lessons taught primarily in German.
The school uses international teaching materials, connecting its examination system with that of countries in the United States and Europe, and provides extra support to children with parents working in foreign enterprises based in Shenyang, including Michelin, Renault and BMW.
The opening of the school is expected to improve education choice for local expatriates, as well as make Shenyang a more attractive place for foreigners to come and live and work.
