Yangzhou's fixed-asset investment in service industry increased by 13.2 percent in the first 10 months compared to the same period last year, ranking first in Jiangsu, according to the statistics released by Yangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission.
The development level of service, especially modern service industry, reflects a city's overall competitiveness and modernization level.
Thanks to the transform in Yangzhou's economic developing model, local service industry has ushered in a new development period. A total of 33 major projects in service industry were approved in the first 10 months and 18 of them were related to modern service industry.
In recent years, Yangzhou government has also released a series of policies to boost the development of service industry.
In the first three quarters, the service industry contributed 53.1 percent to the growth of Yangzhou's total output value, with tax revenue of 17.45 billion yuan ($2.51 billion).
