Shanghai municipal government and Israel's Ministry of Science and Technology reached an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation Nov 5.
According to the agreement, the two sides will work together on life science, agricultural technology, and energy and environmental protection technology, and strengthen exchanges of technological innovation.
Ying Yong, mayor of Shanghai, said that the city will enhance technological cooperation with Israel and further develop the Sino-Israeli (Shanghai) Innovation Park to achieve win-win development for both sides.
Israeli Minister of Science and Technology Ofir Akunis emphasized the importance of this cooperation and said the cooperation embodies the friendly relations between China and Israel as well as Shanghai and Israel.
Shanghai and Israel have had cultural exchanges for a long time and have laid a solid foundation for technological cooperation.
