Eric, who works for a technology company, is heading to Wuzhen, a river town in eastern China, to participate in the fifth World Internet Conference. He has attended the event since 2014, when the conference first began. This is his fifth time running, but he is still looking forward to it.
Themed "Creating a Digital World for Mutual Trust and Collective Governance — Towards a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace", the conference, which lasts from Nov 7 to 9, has invited more than 1,500 guests from governments, international organizations, companies, technology communities and non-governmental organizations.
A total of 19 sub-forums are scheduled, centering on five themes: "innovation-driven development," "universal security," "openness and inclusiveness," " pursuit of a better life" and "common prosperity".
China has become the world internet sector's most energetic growth engine in recent years, so the conference has become a must-watch event, a place to see the most advanced technology and seize enormous opportunities.
