3. Lianhua (Lotus) Mountain Scenic Area

Covering an area of over 100 square kilometers and with its main peak at 999 meters, the Lianhua Mountain is now a world geological park, National Forest Park and a national 4A-level scenic area. There are nine peaks embracing each other, resembling the shape of a lotus, hence the name Linahua (Lotus) Mountain.

It is renowned for its beautiful natural sceneries with fancy hills, unique stones, green forests and beautiful water. With forest coverage of more than 90 percent, the mountain provides a beautiful surrounding and is known as a health resort for its green trees and fresh air with the reputation of "forest oxygen bar". Besides, there are many rare stones here, such as komatiite rocks – the oldest rocks on earth, which have deep scientific research value.

Being the most renowned Buddhist Mountain in Shandong province, it has the largest inartificial indoor statue of Guanyin bodhisattva (Goddess of Mercy) around the country. It also attracted many men of letters and celebrities and left some 500 stones and tablets with inscriptions behind.
