The Taiwan Affairs Office of Fujian province released a new series of policies on Oct 25 to bring more benefits to Taiwan companies and Taiwan residents in Pingtan.
Offering benefits in an all-round way
The local government will continue efforts to turn Pingtan into a pilot area for policies towards Taiwan. It is expected to offer more policy support in building Pingtan into a common home for people from both sides of the Straits.

Supporting two sets of qualification standards
Two sets of qualification standards will be carried out in more industries so that qualifications acquired in Taiwan can be recognized in Pingtan, and this model will be gradually enacted throughout the whole province.
Encouraging employment and entrepreneurship
A service center will be set up to provide supporting services regarding employment and entrepreneurship for Taiwan residents such as consultation, housing security and financial support. They are also encouraged to set up private non-profit organizations for social services in Pingtan.
Encouraging young Taiwan residents
The government will support Pingtan to offer internships for young Taiwan residents.
