The Playful Dialogue in Time and Space exhibition is set to take place in Aotou, a town filled with an artistic atmosphere in Xiamen, Fujian province from Nov 3, 2018 to Jan 3, 2019, local media reported.
Artworks by four painters from different countries will be showcased at the exhibition: Tong Wang, a Chinese Swedish, Lars Ravn from Denmark, Holger Bunk from Germany, and Helgi Thorglis from Iceland.
In addition, they are now jointly working on a wall painting at the exhibition's host venue, the Nordic Contemporary Art Center, which depicts Aotou's beautiful scenery and folk culture.
Nearly 20 paintings by renowned Danish artist J.F. Willumsen are also expected to be displayed together with 20 reproduction prints of Chinese painter Qi Baishi of the same period. Qi is noted for the whimsical, often playful style of his watercolor works.
The exhibition marks the first time that Willumsen's works have appeared in a foreign country.
Denmark is the first stop of the Playful Dialogue in Time and Space exhibition, which was held in April 14.
