Sino-Japanese cultural exchange center opens in Xiamen

A Sino-Japanese cultural exchange center was launched by the Japan Foundation at Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College, East China's Fujian province on Oct 24.

It is the 15th time the Japan Foundation has set up a cultural exchange center in China and the 1st time in Fujian.

The facility is called “Window of Sino-Japanese communication” and is located in the library of Tan Kah Kee College, with the  purpose to create a sound environment for Japanese leaners and Japanese culture fans in Fujian to study and communication.

Activities including the tea ceremony, a Japanese language corner and research exchanges will be held on a regular basis to boost cultural exchanges between China and Japan, according to Yu Yiwen, director of the school's Japanese department.

The Japan Foundation will provide Japanese learning materials and financial support for the project every year, Yu added.

Tan Kah Kee College is the largest Japanese talent cultivation base in Fujian and has built up cooperation with nearly 10 Japanese universities, including Waseda University.
