A delegation from the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) paid an on-site inspection to Yangzhou on Oct 28 to take a look at the city's preparations for the 2021 World Horticultural Exhibition park in Yangzhou.

AIPH, which is responsible for approving the world's finest horticultural exhibition, is the world's plant champion, advocating fair and robust plant breeders' rights, encouraging innovation and rewarding quality.

The expo park is designed to cover 320 hectares and is divided into west and east parts.

The east part of the area, covering 200 hectares, is the site of exhibition gardens for cities from home and abroad, while the west area, the old venue of the 10th Jiangsu Horticultural Expo, is for exhibition gardens of cities in Jiangsu.

Apart from the construction of the expo park, the city has also made great efforts to improve nearby traffic facilities, pushing forward the renovation and construction of the Yizheng High-speed Railway Station and a comprehensive transportation hub.

Lianzhen railway line, connecting Lianyungang, Huaian, Yangzhou and Zhenjiang, four main cities in Jiangsu, is also expected to be put into operation in 2020 and become an important Yangzhou connection to the world.

Entrances and exits of two highways near the expo park are already finished, as is the renovation of nearby main roads.

In order to meet the demands of visitors, well-equipped commercial service facilities such as shopping centers and hotels are also underway to better serve the expo.
