The 13th International Shipbuilding, Marine Equipment and Offshore Engineering Exhibition for China opened at Dalian World Expo Center in Dalian, Liaoning province, on Oct 24.

Nearly 1,000 companies, institutions and organizations from 20 countries and regions participated in the exhibition, including Japan, Norway and Denmark.

Jointly hosted by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI), the China Shipowners’ Association and the Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, this year’s exhibition focuses on intelligent voyages.

Covering nearly 30,000 square meters, the three-day event has nine exhibition areas, showcasing advanced global shipbuilding technologies, marine equipment and offshore engineering technology.

With the expansion of the Chinese ship market, professional manufacturers from all over the world have taken the initiative to seek cooperation and business opportunities in the country, including the American Bureau of Shipping, Japan’s ClassNK, and fluid equipment provider Graco.

China is expecting all-round in-depth cooperation in research and development, design, manufacturing and services with shipbuilding companies across the world, said Guo Dacheng, president of CANSI.

To further exchanges between various companies, more than 30 high-end forums will also be held during the event, covering such areas as shipbuilding, marine technology, ship economy and fishing equipment.
