The layout of Ruili Border Economic Cooperation Zone
Established in December 1992, Ruili Border Economic Cooperation Zone is located at Nongdao town, southwest of Ruili city, and borders Jiexiang town to the east, Huyu town to the north, and Myanmar to the southwest and southeast.
With a planning area of 51 square kilometers, the cooperation zone has a permanent resident population of 17,000 and more than 2,000 employees.
Import and export processing, warehouse and logistics, featured agriculture and tourism are the zone's leading industries. Its main products include rosewood furniture and honey pomelo.
Statistics show that the zone's total output value reached 228 million yuan ($32.92 million) in 2015 and the import-export volume amounted to 10.59 billion yuan, including 9.88 billion yuan for natural gas imports from Myanmar.
