A trade delegation led by Siqinbilige, the acting mayor of Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, took part in the 23th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair, from Oct 19 to 20.
Siqinbilige delivered a speech at the conference on Inner Mongolian trade promotion, saying that the city of Ordos offers convenient transport, a profound culture, beautiful scenery, abundant resources and a promising business environment.
He said that Ordos is now making efforts to replace the old growth drivers with new ones as a way to boost “high-quality” economic growth.
The Ordos Comprehensive Bonded Zone will start operations soon, and its products can be directly distributed to over 50 foreign and domestic cities though international airports, Siqinbilige said, adding that the city had established trade exchanges with Russia, Mongolia, East Europe, Northwest Asia, Hong Kong and Macao.
He expressed his hopes that Ordos enterprises would conduct more profound cooperation with enterprises in Macao in broader areas.
During the delegation’s stay in Macao, Siqinbilige also attended a meeting held between the Inner Mongolia trade delegation and enterprises from Taiwan and Fujian province, an event marking the second anniversary of the founding of a club for Inner Mongolia businessmen in Macao.
At the fair in Macao 12 companies from Ordos, including Ordos Mengtai Group, Jianneng Xinghui Ceramics Group and Inner Mongolia Qingyan Technical Center in Salix Mongolica Industry, showcased their products and technology at the fair.
