Bespoke Tailors Alliance (BTA), a group of elite bespoke tailors from Britain promoting excellence in the industry, opened its China center in Ningbo on Oct 20.
The Bespoke Tailors Alliance (China) Center signifies the deepening of Sino-UK cooperation in the field of bespoke tailoring, before which George Brummell and Henry Bailey, members of BTA, had already cooperated with multiple Chinese clothes brands for several years.
Wu Zhengsheng, operating officer of the center, said they would release a certification system to select a group of outstanding bespoke tailoring companies, and organize regular discussions, training courses, and overseas study tours in this regard, to promote bespoke tailoring craftsmanship and boost the industry in China.
"Many bespoke tailoring companies from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo have already joined us, and we will keep expanding our business to other cities and regions," said Wu, "We aim to build a sound, mature and sustainable bespoke tailoring eco-system across the country."
The center also inked an agreement with George Brummell for setting up a brand operation agency in Asia, and launched a program with related colleges for cultivating professional tailors at the opening ceremony.
