Photographers capture Yangzhou through their lens

A group of press-photographers participating in the "Show Jiangsu" photography trip visited Yangzhou to capture its beauty through their lens from Oct 18 to 19.

Co-organized by the Jiangsu provincial government's information office and News Information Center of Xinhua News Agency, the "Show Jiangsu" photography trip gathered press-photographers from international media outlets such as the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and the European Pressphoto Agency.

The event recorded Jiangsu's transformation over the past 40 years since the reform and opening-up in China through displaying the region's splendid landscape and deep culture.

The group visited several landmarks in Yangzhou, such as the Slender West Lake scenic area, Ye Chun Teahouse and Yanhu village.

Yanhu village, located by Shaobo Lake, possesses over 1,100 mu (73.3 hectares) of mudflat and was included on a list of "Most Beautiful Fishing Villages" in China by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2017.

The photographers took their photos around the wharf at the west side of Shaobo Lake in Yanhu village.

"In order to showcase the beautiful environment for the visitors, we chose the wharf to hold the activity," said Liu Debao, an official from the village.

Distinctive performances were staged at the wharf for visitors to learn more the village's culture and customs.
