The first phase of the 124th Canton Fair, showcasing products and services in electronics, household electrical appliances, lighting equipment, vehicles and spare parts, machinery, building materials and energy resources, concluded on Oct 19.
During the first four days of the first phase, the turnover surpassed $1.3 billion, an increase of 4 percent over the same period last year.
Over 250 Guangzhou companies participated in the first phase, setting up 788 booths and pavilions. The turnover of Guangzhou-based companies hit $220 million, with electronic products and home appliances accounting for 8.5 percent and 2.6 percent respectively.
The second phase of the fair will be held between Oct 23 and 27, with a focus on consumer goods and gifts. The third phase will last from Oct 31 to Nov 4 and mainly display products relating to home decoration, textiles, office supplies, bags, recreation products, medicines, medical devices, health products and food.
