Over 1,000 kinds of overseas products, including French wine, Japanese beauty masks and Argentinian seafood, will be more easily accessible to Shanxi residents after the Shanxi Import and Export Brand Products Exhibition Center opened to the public in Wusu Comprehensive Bonded Area in Taiyuan Oct 18.
Covering 3,000 square meters, the exhibition center gathers quality products from 60 countries in Asia, Europe, the Americas and Oceania, covering wine, grain, oil, health products, toys, luxury and household items.
Imported goods can be bonded in the exhibition center by taking advantage of the bonded area's policies, which mean customers can purchase certified products at prices lower than that of domestic agents and shopping malls.
In addition, the exhibition center displays more than 1,000 kinds of products of nearly 300 farm produce brands from Shanxi.
Integrating online and offline services, the import and export brand products exhibition center operates businesses including international brand exhibition and promotion, agent services for international trade and customs clearance and cross-border e-commerce, which covers the province and surrounding provinces and cities.
In recent years, the center has been focusing on brand building and promotion, establishing brand exhibition centers in the United States, Australia and Hong Kong as well as brand marketing networks and import-export bases overseas, connecting Shanxi and the global market.
It will play an important role in enhancing the consumption and living standards of people in Shanxi, boosting regional foreign trade and advancing cooperation among countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, according to Fan Wugao, the center's director.
