Over 100 Taiwan residents opened bank accounts and mobile phone numbers on Oct 16 at a service center set up in Pingtan Liushui Primary School by staff members from Tai Lu Tong.

Tai Lu Tong, a mobile phone application, was one of several key projects that Pingtan recently introduced. It provides a platform for offering all kinds of information on matters such as jobs, politics and social welfare, satisfying Taiwan residents' needs for living on the Chinese mainland.

After downloading the application, Taiwan residents can enjoy almost all the third party services available on the mainland such as online shopping and ride hailing.

Lin Jhao-ling, who recently came to Pingtan for the first time, said the application helped her to find information about Pingtan, including recognition of her professional qualifications.

"I came to Pingtan is not only for travel, but also for finding a proper job," said Lin.
