A summit on the application of new energy vehicles was launched in Togtoh county in Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Oct 16.
The summit was organized by the municipal government of Hohhot, the government of Togtoh county and local companies.
Bi Guochen, vice-mayor of the city, said during his opening remarks that Hohhot has made great efforts in developing the new energy industry and released a package of policies in recent years.
He said the city has established a new energy vehicle industrial base at the Jinshan High-tech Park, attracting dozens of new energy companies, including Skywell Co Ltd, a leading player in China's vehicle industry.
Figures show that nearly 1,000 electric buses have been operating in Hohhot.
Bi expressed his hopes that the attendees will put forward suggestions on the application of new energy vehicles and the further development of the new energy industry.
