China, Russia strengthens science and technology cooperation ​

The third Sino-Russia High-tech Forum was held in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province on October 11, in a bid to boost upgrading of bilateral all-round cooperation.

At the forum, representatives from the two sides expounded that in today's complex international context where unilateralism and trade protectionism are on the rise, strengthening the strategic cooperation between China and Russia, especially in science and technology innovation, is not only necessary for the two countries to achieve coordinated development and to benefit each other, but also to help promote the international peace process.

"We will, as always, support Russia-China scientific and technological cooperation, push bilateral cooperation further, and establish normalized cooperation mechanisms," said a representative of Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

Chen Linhao, deputy director of International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, echoed the Russian representative’s expectations on deepening bilateral cooperation and expressed his hopes that Heilongjiang would play a more important role in boosting Sino-Russia cooperation in the future.

The forum was sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and Russian Federal Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
