A dining hall serving special delicacies in Shanghai opened on Oct 15 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the venue for the China International Import Expo that is set to take place from Nov 5 to 10.
The hall covering about 2,200 square meters has been co-launched by the city's 24 breakfast companies and time-honored restaurants, with the aim of showing domestic and overseas visitors local catering culture and satisfying their needs for dining during the expo.
A wide range of delicacies are on offer, including eight-treasure rice pudding (steamed glutinous rice with bean paste, lotus seeds, preserved fruit, and others), sponge cake, sweet green rice ball, butterfly cracker, pan-fried bun stuffed with pork, and xiaolongbao (steamed bun), among others.
