Marcello Lippi, the Chinese national football team coach, will address high school students in Guangzhou on how to use sport and a balanced diet to maintain good health as part of activities organized for the third edition of Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.
Fabio Cannavaro, coach of the Chinese Super League team Guangzhou Evergrande, Fortunato Ostacolo, executive chef of Guangzhou Evergrande, and Enrico Castellacci, a Chinese national football team doctor, will also join the event at the Affiliated High School of South China Normal University on November 9.
A series of events will be staged in South China to mark the cuisine week, which will focus on the health benefits of a Mediterranean diet as well as promoting Italian exports, and food and wine tourism, said Lucia Pasqualini, consul general of Italy in Guangzhou, on October 16.
Award-winning two-Michelin-star Italian chef Moreno Cedroni will cook a gala dinner in Guangzhou on November 15.
The global Italian cuisine week is organized by Italy's ministries of foreign affairs, of agricultural, food and forestry policies, of university education and research, and of economic development.
