Yangzhou signed a total of 20 high-tech talent introduction projects in Northeast China's Jilin province during a seminar held with local higher education institutions on Oct 12.
Jilin enjoys abundant talent resources, housing a cluster of prestigious universities such as Jilin University, Northeast Normal University and two research institutions set up by the Chinese Academy of Science.
The projects signed covered various fields including optical electrons, automobile machinery and biological environmental protection.
Fu Chao, a doctor from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry Chinese Academy of Science, signed up with a company in Yangzhou's Gaoyou city for the production of thin-film capacitors.
Thin-film capacitors, widely used in electronic products such as tablet PCs, laptops and cameras, use thin films applied on capacitors to store electricity.
"Using thin-film capacitors can reduce the pollution caused by the deposit of batteries," said Fu.
