A self-service office was opened by the Exit-entry Administration of Hohhot Public Security Department on Sept 29.
The office is designed to help the city's Exit-Entry Administration save labor costs in providing services.
Featuring intelligent self-help machines, it offers people a one-stop solution in handling exit-entry affairs.
People can apply to replace their passports, and obtain exit-entry permits for traveling to and from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan by using the machines. There are also machines for accepting payments and taking document photos.
According to the Public Security Department, the government will further promote the use of intelligent technology in exit-entry offices at the county level.
