The city of Shenyang, Liaoning province saw strong consumer sales during China's National Day holiday, also known as Golden Week, which took place from Oct 1 to 7.
With stores groaning with goods, consumers were out in force visiting shopping malls and supermarkets, with many choosing to take advantage of unmanned stores and mobile payment technology.
The week-long holiday is a time for culinary treats for many, and this year the city was more than adequately supplied with 30,000 metric tons of vegetables. With supplies easily meeting demand, prices in the shops remained stable, providing value to consumers.
