A new big data industrial park with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan ($507.28 million) recently opened in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province, in a boost to the development of its big data industry.
Selected into the Shandong provincial new and old kinetic energy conversion project database, which gives priority to projects when applying for financial support and funds, this project is also expected to accelerate the city's and the province's energy conversion industry.
It will provide services of big data consulting, data exchange, and government purchase, and be a platform for the research and development of dedicated software for the Internet of Things, cloud computing, intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence based on the big data industry in the area, as well as a training base for talents.
The park will cooperate with the world's largest telecom equipment maker Huawei, internet giant Tencent, Microsoft China, Alibaba Group's cloud computing arm – Alibaba Cloud and other tens of domestic and overseas renowned companies and institutes to build big data-related universities and colleges, laboratories, research institutes, and entrepreneurial platforms.
Covering an area of 210 mu (14 hectares), the industrial park is jointly built by the administration committee of Tai'an Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Shandong Agricultural University, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Data Science, and Shandong Zhongzhi Electronics Co.
