Shenyang's tourism saw significant growth during this year's Golden Week, with the number of tourists reaching 8.28 million, indicating a year-on-year growth of 24.9 percent. Its tourism revenue reached 5.81 billion yuan ($843.82 million), an increase of 15.3 percent year-on-year, according to Shenyang Municipal Tourism Commission.
Specifically, the number of tourists staying overnight reached 1.31 million person-days, attracting 3.91 billion yuan, while tourists on one-day tours reached 6.97 million person-days generating revenue of 1.90 million yuan.
The consumption of tourist accommodations also increased, with average occupancy rates of star-grade hotels in Shenyang reaching 66.3 percent, much higher than the same quarter last year.
