Huanjiang red pomelos boost rural economy

Zhujiang red pomelo has reached its season of maturity, attracting large groups of visitors to take part in the fruit picking activities to celebrate the harvest in Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Sept 19.

In order to further develop its red pomelo industry, the county has taken a variety of measures, including introducing supportive policies, raising funds and integrating resources, and it also set up a red pomelo demonstration base. Through years' of hard work, the planting area throughout the country has reached 62,000 mu (4,133 hectares) up to now, which has greatly promoted the local economy.
