Zhou Liujun, vice chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Najib Aqa Fahim, Afghan state minister for disaster management and humanitarian affairs, on Sept 26.
The two sides exchanged views on development cooperation and disaster prevention and reduction.

Zhou said that China and Afghanistan have traditionally been friendly neighbors, having helped each other and shared their fortunes over the years. China will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Afghanistan and help the nation improve its infrastructure, carry out personnel training, and upgrade the early warning and emergency management level to have a better response to natural disasters while benefitting local people.
Fahim said that the two countries have a long history of friendship. The Afghan government and people sincerely appreciate the altruistic help provided by China. He also said that Afghanistan is willing to learn from China in disaster prevention and reduction and further deepen cooperation with its neighbor.
