Shanghai launched four foreign-related legal service institutions on Sept 26 to serve the overseas enterprises that will come to attend the soon-to-be-held China International Import Expo.

The expo, set to take place in the city from Nov 5 to 10, is part of a government backed initiative to support trade facilitation and economic globalization, and to open doors wider to the outside world.

At present, it has attracted more than 2,000 enterprises from over 100 countries and regions worldwide.

The newly-established institutions, involving a foreign-related legal service center, a corporate compliance research center, a joint foreign-related law training center, and an international finance and trade legal affairs research center, will cater to the needs of the overseas attendees.

The legal service center will make full use of local legal resources and combine the features of the expo to offer customized services such as a guide to business environment and policies, foreign-related legal affairs consulting, and investment risk prevention.

The other three institutions are expected to be driving forces for the development of Shanghai's foreign-related legal service.
