The State Council has approved a request from the Ministry of Emergency Management to improve the inter-ministerial meeting system on supervision of dangerous chemicals’ safety production, according to a circular released on Sept 29.
The inter-ministerial meeting will be in charge of collecting and analyzing data on China’s safe production of dangerous chemicals, guiding the supervision work on production, promoting the implementation of related policies and measures, deliberating on various proposals, solving any major problems in supervision, and conducting joint inspections.
The members will come from 25 State Council departments and other units, such as the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Transport, according to the circular.
The meeting will be convened by the Ministry of Emergency Management, with the minister being the convener, and a plenary meeting should be held at least once a year.
A special work group will be set up under the meeting to relocate and transform dangerous chemical production enterprises, the circular stated.
