2018 Circum-Central Plains Open Cycling Championships (Sanmenxia Stop), or the 2018 China (Sanmenxia) Yellow River Park Road Cycling Race, hit the road at the Yellow River Park in Sanmenxia on Sept 28.
The event, considered as a significant chance to promote Sanmenxia's popularity, attracted a number of government officials and journalists, as well as more than 2,000 cycling enthusiasts from home and abroad to the cycling event.
Covering a length of 8.7 kilometers a round with six competition events, the two-day race was sponsored by the Henan Provincial Sports Bureau, the Henan Provincial Sports Federation and the municipal government of Sanmenxia. The race has developed into the largest scale and broadest social influence competition in Henan, aiming to enhance the national fitness activity.
As a healthy, fashionable and environmental exercise program, cycling has become one of the most popular sport events across the world. The race, which celebrated its fourth edition this year, was expected to promote a green and low-carbon lifestyle and offer a platform to boost the unique tourism brand of the city of Sanmenxia.
