The rolling mountains of Jinlong Temple Forest Park

Jinlong Temple Forest Park is a great place to visit in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province if you enjoy hiking. The park is 25 kilometers away from the city center and has been open to the public since May 2002.

Covering an area of 21.38 square kilometers, the park is home to over 700 kinds of plant and over 30 species of animal.

Highlights in the park include the many different types of forest, the 406-meter-high Chengshan Mountain, and the view of the ancient city wall, the Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea, and city skyline.

Many visitors enjoy the park’s striking variety of rocks, with some of them appearing to be shaped like animals or people.

In addition, three temples are dotted around the park and each has its own unique story. There are also several artificial lakes offering water-based activities for visitors.

In 2014, the park reopened following renovation work to upgrade its infrastructure and support facilities.
