Cross-Straits exchange bases are an approved tool of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council PRC, and are designed to promote exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan.
According to Wang Yuqing, director of the Taiwan affairs office of Shenyang, the 9.18 Historical Museum enjoys an excellent reputation and is an extremely influential body.
The organization has already organized a wide range of exchange activities, each with a different theme such as culture and history.
The establishment of the base will greatly promote academic and cultural exchanges between Liaoning province and Taiwan, added Wang.
