An activity designed to celebrate the first China Farmers’ Harvest Festival was held by the Ejin Horoo Banner government and the Ordos bureau of agriculture and husbandry, in Ejin Horoo Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Sept 23.
The festival comes as the national government calls for more efforts to upgrade agricultural technology, stimulate rural development and raise farmers' livelihoods in a comprehensive effort.
The event will take place during the autumnal equinox each year.
The celebration in Ordos consisted of a wide array of activities, including an exhibition of agricultural products, a sports meet for farmers and herdsmen, an agricultural food festival and artistic performances.
