The Xiaoxiang Card, an all-in-one e-card in Changsha that can be used to take buses and subways, was released on Sept 9 to help make public transport more convenient for local people.
With a capacity of over 128 kilobytes, the Xiaoxiang Card can be used for transportation, social security, healthcare, finance, etc. It also provides citizens with one-stop smart services, and can carry out various functions with a single click.
Citizens can also use the Xiaoxiang Card on subways and buses in more than 200 cities across the country, including Beijing, Tianjin and Shenzhen. It will make going to school and work, traveling, and business more convenient for citizens.
The Xiaoxiang Card is very safe as the funds of its holder are directly supervised by the Peoples Bank of China. Its app is currently under testing, and will soon be available to provide online self-charging and mobile payment services for citizens.
The city will soon expand the application of the Xiaoxiang Card into things like water, electricity, gas, medical and healthcare, intercity rail, parking, catering services, retail, long-distance travel, tourist attractions, etc.
Next, Changsha will accelerate the launch of the Xiaoxiang Card app, add more service outlets, expand cooperation channels, and implement the replacement of old cards. It will also promote the Xiaoxiang Card throughout the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region and other cities in Hunan province.
