Northeastern Asia Talent Communication and Cooperation Forum held in Hunchun

The first Northeastern Asia International Talent Communication and Cooperation Forum was held in Hunchun, Jilin province on Sept 19.

Nearly 400 government officials, academicians, foreign students and businessmen from various northeastern Asian countries gathered to probe into the future development of talent-driven economy.

Several officials, including Gao Yulong, secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Hunchun, illustrated the significance of an innovation-driven economy. Gao announced that the city is planning to build an array of research centers to introduce more than 10,000 high-skilled laborers to local industries within five years.

"Talents are the ultimate impetus that will propel Jilin into the modern age, breaking technological boundaries, spreading advanced ideas and breathing life into the province's economy," said Luo Mengyan, vice-minister of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee of Jilin.

A talent cooperation framework agreement was signed between Hunchun and the Association of North East Asia Regional Governments (NEAR). A series of talent cooperation agreements were also signed at the forum.
