Day six: The 9.18 Historical Museum – China Xibe Museum – Zhonghua Temple scenic area – Huaxia Minsucun Restaurant
The 9.18 Historical Museum is located at No 46 Wanghua Nan Street, Dadong district, Shenyang. Using audio-visual media and numerous exhibition pieces, the museum documents the "18th of September Incident" of 1931 when Japanese forces attacked Shenyang. It was listed as a national 4A tourist attraction in 2002.
China Xibe Museum is the first museum featuring the culture and history of Xibe ethnic group in China. The museum, covering an area of 9,804 square meters, has three floors, containing exhibition halls displaying the history, folk customs and intangible cultural heritage of the Xibe ethnic group. The museum has received about 73 million yuan ($10.59 million) in investments.
Zhonghua Temple scenic area was built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), with a history of more than 1,000 years. It is a national 4A tourist attraction. It is a large religious tourism scenic area which combines Buddhism and Taoism. Zhonghua Temple was at one point in history the center of Buddhism in China. Its rich cultural significance and Buddhist relics have attracted numerous writers, poets and believers since its establishment.
Huaxia Minsucun Restaurant focuses on catering, offering specialties and local dishes, from hot dishes, soups and stews, to desserts and staple foods.
