Day two: Shenyang Botanical Garden – Qipan Mountain scenic spot – Bao Fa Yuan

Occupying 246 hectares, the Shenyang Botanical Garden stands on rolling hills surrounded by green pines and cypresses. More than 20 special gardens have been built to host different types of plants and ecological habitats. So far, more than 1,700 genera of flora have been displayed, including open fields filled with woody plants from 56 families and 518 species; 75 families of herbaceous plants, with 854 species; and 78 families containing 400 species of greenhouse flowers.

Qipan Mountain Scenic Area is the biggest natural scenic zone in Shenyang and covers 190 square kilometers. The zone includes plant and animal reserves, a water sports area, a ski area, a central service area, a hunting area and a villa area. 

Founded in 1909, Bao Fa Yuan is an old restaurant with a history dating back over 100 years. In 1980, four dishes of Bao Fa Yuan –– fried liver, pork kidney, scrambled eggs and fried meat balls were designated as "four famous dishes" by Shenyang municipal government. The four dishes have also won the title of Shenyang's top cuisine for five consecutive years.
