Two self-driving commercial buses named Apolong arrived in Pingtan on Sept 22 for the upcoming 2018 Pingtan Innovation Forum, which will commence on Sept 28.
Apolong, jointly developed by Baidu and the Chinese commercial vehicle maker King Long, will be put into commercial operation such as tourism.
Various experience activities will be organized as part of the forum. Reservations can be made on the Wechat name Wu Cai Qi Lin (Colorful Kylin).
"Experience activities include trying out an automatic vending machine, unmanned sweeper and Apolong. These activities are not only available for guests, but are also open to the public," said Ruan Zuguang, an entrepreneur who will be at the forum.
A sub-forum on unmanned driving will also be held during the 2018 Pingtan Innovation Forum to boost the development of unmanned driving in Pingtan.
